Creating Mock Ups: Here I have created a few mock up’s of how my idea would look in a club and I’m quite happy with the way that they are looking.

this is something I have tried to do this week but I haven’t had or heard a reply from him in aid of guidance of getting an Isadora patch for submission.

Final Presentation time.

It’s nearing the end of the road for this project.

For this presentation I am going to visually communicate my plan for my idea as something has gone wayy wrong with time management and general management of this project of work.

I am going to talk about my plans and ideas aswell as show some physical examples of the work I have made and see what I need to do work-wise for submission on Monday.

My very first hand drawn animation.

This is a 21 drawing animation in which I used the light box to aid me with this. This was done way before the coloured eye animation.

I had troubles with doing this animation due to paper stocks and not being able to trace it out, I think I tried 3 or 4 times so this took quite a while to sort out.

- This is the animation I used to put into Isadora to learn how to use it a little more.

I doubt that I am going to be finished in time at all. I haven’t really made or produced much work during this project due to time management of other projects.

I am going to try my hardest for the presentation and at least try to propose my idea visually and comunicate to the group my final intentions for the work.

This is the incredibly short animation I have made using my own drawings and adobe flash.

I’m not overly pleased with this animation but I did take a lot from it as it’s really nice to see your own work animated. I think due to the short length of this video I am definately going to have to add a few more drawings into it and see it I can neaten it up a little bit.

Isadora as a piece of software is awesome, it’s really great to think that somebody could interact with something that you have made.

Isadora: Using Isadora.

This week Sam Meech had said that he would help me use Isadora as we had kind of learnt the basics but it seemed to go in a lot more as it was a one on one session than trying to keep with a class and working in a group.

I took a lot from this session and I feel like I have a greater understanding of the use of Isadora and as a piece of software how it works.

Artist Reference: Jeff Koons

I found pieces of his works on Tumblr and I found it quite intriging, I was able to connect my style of work to these pieces of his work down to the iconography used within the collaged pieces.

Within these pieces of art Jeff has used things such as lips and eyes to attract attention of the viewer and they kind of act as the vocal points of the pieces.

I feel like the presentation I made about my work so far and my progress went pretty well as I didn’t have a great deal of work to show.

In the presentation I highlighted elements of my own work that I could work with and what I would want to do with them aswell as having my pieces of work to show to the class.

I was honest and realistic in my presentation saying where I was up to and what I had done aswell as talking about what I need to do.

I need to get over the thought of Flash and Isadora being obstacles and crack on with the work I need to do.

I need to develop hand drawn animation much more and enjoy it and bring my style of work to it much more freely with added colours and shading.

Tutorial Meeting [30/01/2012]

Today I had a tutorial meeting with Sam, In all honesty since the last time I spoke to him I hadn’t done any work due to the workload from other modules on the course I explained to Sam and he completely understood.

Before this tutorial I was worried that I had nothing to speak about to Sam really so I decided to take a few pieces of my work in for him to see (above). Sam’s reaction to work is great as it kind of gives me a bit of a confidence boost especially with this project as it’s the whole body and theme of it. I’m really pleased that I brought my work in for him to see cause seeing things on screen to actually visualising in real life are two completely different things.

I’m really excited about starting this project in full effect and as Sam said to me and I agreed, that this project is something that builds on the work I have already done. Having enthusiasm towards a project is amazing, I really can’t wait to see what this project has in store for my line of work and end result for this project.

To be done for next week: Two flash animations that we can play with in Isadora.

What to do next...

- Trace elements and work on the drawing of these elements.

- Animate them using flash.

Artist Reference: Diego Giovanni Bermudez Agguire.

Diego Giovanni Bermudez Agguire is a Colombian graphic designer. In Diego’s works he explores shape and colour quite boldly and it’s very apparent. He has had many years of experience as a professional graphic designer and teacher at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universitaria del Area Andina, both in the Colombian capital of Bogota.

I have opted to look at a designer opposed to an illustrator as just a way of diversifying my references to artists. I really love the colour Diego uses in his works and I find the colour a relation between my own and his works. His works are known for the bold colour blocking and abstracts and expressive shapes he uses within his pieces. (Along with his use of eyes within his pieces).

My Most Recent Piece of Work.

This is a piece of work I had fun with based on the idea of Actions speak louder than words. There isn’t anything serious or true about it I just wanted to draw and have fun with it as it has been a while since I have been able to do my own work.

This is another example of the style of work I do and I thought It would be a good idea to post this as aspects of my work I would like to animate are large in scale on this piece of work. I would like to animate the mouth to open and close in relation to sound and the eye to open and close with the force of movement possibly.

Artist/Isadora Reference: Creature Feature by Zoë Darnell & Stuart Lanceley.

This is the piece that got me excited about using and starting on Isadora, I think this is such a mind blowing piece of work and the fact it was displayed in a shop front is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!

In my piece of work for this project I am going to use motion sensors so my piece will have a similar kind of isadora interaction to this amazing piece of work.

I am really happy that my change in idea for this project has really changed my mind about it as a whole. I am really excited to start animating and drawing and using Isadora (even though I am going to face some difficulties) on my own works and creating a really fun, imaginative, bold and colourful night club visual.

Artist Reference: Keith Haring

Keith Haring was an artist and social activist whose work responded to the New York City street culture of the 1980s. Haring achieved his first public attention with chalk drawings in the subways of New York. These were his first recognized pieces of pop art. The exhibitions were filmed by the photographer Tseng Kwong Chi. Around this time, “The Radiant baby” became his symbol. His bold lines, vivid colors, and active figures carry strong messages of life and unity.

Haring’s work is something I relate to quite a lot in my sketchbook and have done since I was about 15/16. I really love the simplicity of his works and the strong messages in which they portray, his vivid use of colour is something that makes me a fan of what he has created. Haring wasn’t afraid of colour and this really is shown in his works and even still today is work is considered as fresh and still contemporary.
